Emmi Salonen

Positioning a Design-Led Author for Press Success

“I absolutely loved what Adele put together. She really ‘got it’ and turned our ideas into clear, actionable press and strategy. Incredibly helpful and genuinely energising.”
(Emmi Salonen)

Emmi Salonen is a Finnish graphic designer and founder of Studio Emmi, known for her bold, thoughtful design work partnering with clients and creatives who want to make a positive contribution to society and planet. In 2024, she launched her latest project, The Creative Wellbeing Handbook, for anyone who’s ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or simply in need of a spark. She reached out to Copy & Co to shape her press strategy.

We worked together to refine her messaging and develop a cohesive press kit that reflected both her Nordic roots and her mission to help creative professionals avoid burnout.

How Copy & Co helped

  • Strategic positioning

    • Clarified the book’s three key narrative angles, ensuring each could stand alone as a targeted press hook.

    • Offered actionable recommendations to strengthen her book’s message around creativity and self-compassion.

  • Copywriting and media materials

    • Developed themed press releases with clear storylines for design, culture, and wellbeing audiences.

    • Crafted personalised pitch emails for different media outlets, helping Emmi approach journalists with confidence.

    • Reviewed and edited website copy across pages, balancing warmth with professionalism.

Results

  • Increased press interest: Multiple journalists and media contacts requested further details and assets after receiving the releases, confirming strong resonance with the new positioning.

  • A lasting framework: The process gave Emmi a repeatable framework for future launches, helping her to manage outreach independently while staying true to her tone and ethos.
